5-star heritage hotel home to Australia's longest-running Afternoon Tea tradition

Dining & Culinary Experiences

The Hotel Windsor's One Eleven restaurant is the venue for Australia's longest-running Afternoon Tea tradition, served daily in a historic setting. The Cricketers Bar offers al fresco pub meals and beers on tap, with a $20 lunch menu that includes a beer or wine. Room service is available 24 hours, and the coffee house on site serves wine and champagne by the glass.

Rooms & Accommodations

Each spacious room includes cable TV, a fully stocked minibar, and luxury bathrobes. Guests can choose from a pillow menu with multiple options to suit individual comfort. The heritage-listed building features 12-foot-high ceilings and traditional 19th-century décor throughout the guest rooms and public spaces.

Location & Nearby Landmarks

The hotel sits opposite State Parliament House and Treasury Gardens, next to the Princess Theatre and Parliament Train Station. Trams stop directly in front of the hotel, and Collins Street shopping and dining are a 5-minute walk away. Melbourne's Chinatown and Bourke Street Mall are within a 5-minute walk, providing access to restaurants and luxury boutiques.

Business & Events

Function rooms at The Hotel Windsor can accommodate up to 300 guests for weddings, corporate events, and private dinners. The hotel offers meeting and banquet facilities, a business centre with fax and photocopying, and a 24-hour concierge service. Valet parking and a parking garage are available, with easy access to public transport options including the nearby Parliament Train Station.

Family & Guest Services

Babysitting and child services are available upon request, and the hotel offers family rooms with connecting options. Daily housekeeping, dry cleaning, ironing service, and laundry are provided for all guests. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, key card access, and safety deposit boxes in each room.

“There's a palpable sense of history here, emphasized by its architecture and prime location near the theatre district and luxury boutiques; however, some aspects require updating to truly meet contemporary expectations.
